My name is Kay. I currently work at the Walt Disney World Resort. That's about all I have going right now.

Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom

Hey, so I went and played a new game over at MK today called Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom. I played it once already on my birthday last week, and have absolutely fallen in love with it. If you’ve ever played the Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure at Epcot, then you’ll see a similar idea being used here.

The basic premise is that Hades (from Hercules) is trying to take over the Magic Kingdom and is getting some of our favorite Disney villains to help him achieve his goal. He needs a magic crystal to have ultimate power, and so as sorcerers our mission is to stop his villainous colleagues from assembling it.

You receive an activation key, a map, and five spell cards to battle evil. Merlin is our guide, and he instructs us on how to use our spell cards to defeat the villains. There are four lands where you play: Adventureland, Frontierland/Liberty Square, Main Street, USA, and Fantasyland. You battle one villain at a time in a particular land by going to the different portals shown on the provided map. Once your adventure is complete, you can end there or they give you the option to continue on and battle another villain. After you’ve bested all of Hades’ cohorts, you battle Hades himself for the glory of becoming Master Sorcerer of the Magic Kingdom.

Best of all, you get to keep everything. They’ll be coming out with a card game that uses the spell cards you play with in the park. There are a total of 70 cards, so I’ll be working on collecting them all! I’ll post some pictures of my cards and the game portals as well.

Sorry For The Lame-ness

So I just took a look at my tumblr, and I was a bit underwhelmed. My last post was from November, and about school. Uck. It’s too late at the moment (and my iPad battery is down to 3%) so no substantial post tonight, but now that I have lots of free time I’m really going to do the tumblr thing. I mean it this time.

What I’m currently reading in my Contemporary Literature class. This book just makes me laugh, whether from an actual joke or how much of a wack-a-doodle the main character is.  Supposed to finish it for class tomorrow. (!)

What I’m currently reading in my Irish Literature class. It’s definitely not your run of the mill story, but it sort of unexpectedly captivates you. My professor says there’s a twist, and I can’t wait to see what happens at the end!

NaNoWriMo, Revisited

I’ve done some thinking about this challenge of writing a novel in the month of November, and while it excites me, I can’t with good conscience do it this year.  I’m set to graduate in December, and I can’t afford to distract myself when I’m so close to my goal.

BUT…this doesn’t mean I’m going to give up on my tumblr usage resolution. I’m definitely going to start posting on a regular basis, and see where it goes from there. You can expect pictures, quotes, musings, (rants), and anything else I may think up. Eventually I hope to get some kind of theme or mission, but until that happens it’ll probably be fairly random.

And I fully intend to devote myself to some kind of creative project once I’m finally done with school. Yay!

National Novel Writing Month; Inspired

So, after reading today that November is National Novel Writing Month, I’ve decided to finally start using my tumblr. (Finally!) I’ve decided that every day in November I’m going to write something here. It may be a little or a lot, but I’d like to try writing for myself. I’ve always considered myself more of a reader than a writer, but I figured I’d give it a shot. Now I realize that this will hardly constitute a novel by the end of November, but I think it’s in keeping with the spirit of the assignment.

Unfortunately, I decided this only a moment ago, so I won’t really be doing a post as I’m envisioning for the rest of the month tonight. Also, I’ll hopefully be doing some final tweaks to my existing page tomorrow so that everything will be good to go by Thursday. I’m looking forward to it!
